A new ergonomic blade design, upgraded speakers, and better noise control make Samsung’s latest buds feel like a do‑over done right.
Alongside three new smartphones, Samsung also announced the new Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. From the looks of it, they seem to fix everything that didn't resonate with the last generation of earbuds. The Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro both feature an updated design with a more ergonomic blade, better audio capabilities, and improvements to the battery life. They also come with a new charging case with a chic, see-through aesthetic.
The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have the biggest sound upgrade with improved two-way speakers, support for 24-bit/96KHz Hi-Fi audio, and a wider internal woofer that promises to deliver more punch when the bassline hits. I can attest it sounded "boomy" in the short demonstration that I had, though I'm looking forward to testing it with my own bass-heavy noisy tracks.
The indent point where the touch aand pinch controls live are mich more pronounced with the Galaxy Buds 4/Buds 4 Pro. Whereas the Galaxy Buds could be hard to figure out with a quick tap, the tactile dip of where the buttons lie make it easier to know when to pinch to get the result you're looking for.
Samsung says the Galaxy Buds 4/4 Pro are clearer when handling phone calls and quicker to pair when synced with a companion Samsung smartphone. They also offer hands-free access to Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity.
You can pre-order the Galaxy Buds 4 for $180 and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro for $250 starting today. They're on sale everywhere on March 11.
